Who is Milt Stegall?
Milt Stegall is the Canadian Football League’s all-time leading receiver in receiving touchdowns (144) and career yardage (15,071). He also holds the CFL record for most touchdowns scored (147).
After three seasons with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals, Stegall entered the CFL in 1995 and played 14 seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as a receiver. Before announcing his retirement at the end of the 2008 season, Stegall was recognized as a nine-time CFL All-Star (1997, 2000-2007), named the league’s Most Outstanding Player in 2002, and identified as one of the Top 50 (#15) CFL Players of the Modern Era by TSN (ESPN) in 2006.
Stegall attended Miami University, where he was a four-year football letterman from 1988 to 1991. Stegall finished his Miami career with 106 receptions for 1,581 yards and eight touchdowns as a wide receiver. Because of his speed (he competed on Miami’s track and field team where he holds the 3rd fastest 100 meter dash, 10.44 seconds, and 5th fastest 200 meter dash, 21.24 seconds) he was also a dynamic kick returner, setting a career record of 1,377 kick return yards which lasted until 2002.
Stegall was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Roger Bacon High School, where he was a letterman in football and track. He began his illustrious football career at age 4 for now defunct Parchman & Oyler Pop Warner Football. His league record for touchdowns scored as a running back still stands today.
Now retired from the CFL, Milt Stegall serves as a Guest Analyst for TSN (ESPN), runs Milt Stegall Enterprises, makes appearances across the country as a motivational speaker, and prepares young receivers for success through his Receiver U camp. A devoted husband and father, Milt resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife Darlene and two sons, Chase and Colin.
